Trent's Trip to New Orleans

I (Trent) was recently in New Orleans on a business trip.  Despite the 100% humidity and scorching heat, I had some free time to go explore the place.  Don't worry, Audry set a curfew of 6pm so as you can tell, no crazy night shots with beads on Bourbon Street!  Besides, who wants to see my boobs.
River walk of shops and restaurants on the Mississippi.

Colonial apartment buildings built in the mid 1800's
Jackson Square, St. Louise Cathedral (the oldest operating cathedral in the US.) Left of the Cathedral is the old city hall where the louisiana purchase was signed

Nope this is not Disneyland!
Old Hickory
St. Louis #1 cemetery. French learned early on that burying their dead was impractical in New Orleans.  Since the water table is so close to the surface, during a flood, bodies would come to the surface and would be found floating around the city.  They tried to weigh down the tombs with weights or rocks but nothing seemed to work.  As a result everyone is buried above ground.  This particular cemetery was built in the 1800's and each tomb can hold multiple family members!
Interesting entertainment.

Day time on Bourbon St or could it be trick photography?
Of course I had to go to Cafe du Monde to eat beignets 3x.
Gang graffiti
Congress appointed National World War II museum in New Orleans with a special emphasis on the Battle of Normady.  Why did Congress appoint the nation museum in New Orleans of all places? An entrepreneur by the name of Andrew Higgins had his business in New Orleans where he built boats in particular the LCVP which was the critical piece to the allied western european invasion.  I guess it could have been in either Oak Ridge Tennessee, or Los Alamos (home of the Manhattan project,) but oh well.
Garden district, New Orleans, home to very old and expensive victorian mansions.  I would rather have my mansion in Montana overlooking the Madison River, my beard, old clunker truck, fly rod and ice cold IBC root beer.
