Last stop in our trip was Lubjiana, Slovenia which, like Croatia, is part of the former Yugoslavia. Trent's Great Grandparents migrated from this part of Yugoslavia so the visit had some ancestral significance. Unfortunately we ran out of time and were unable to visit the town called "Homec," or tombstones from our ancestors. Maybe next time!
The ancient symbol of Slovenia is the Dragon. The dragon protects the beautiful city of Lubjiana

How cool! Looks like an awesome trip! What memories! :-) Thanks for sharing! Now I've got the travel bug. We are going to Utah/Idaho/Wyoming at the end of the month for our 10 year anniversary and Mike's mission reunion...not quite the same as Europe, but it'll have to do. We originally planned to go to Scotland to visit the Cameron Castle and stuff, but when we did the research we learned the Cameron clan reunion is next year and that would be more worthwhile! So it's off to the west!
I want to walk on those cobblestone streets. What an amazing trip!
I can't even pronounce that last word you typed. Beautiful pictures! I want to go there. Did I say that in my last comment? I think I did. But it's true.
Hi there... we had a Primary meeting the other night and Alysa told me to check out your blog as you had recently been to Croatia. I loved seeing your pictures and was happy to hear you had a great time.
My entire family on my mom's side is Croatian (tell your husband our names are Constantiovich, Pavolic, Milosovich, Kavacevic, Sponarich, Andrijasivich and that's all I've got - maybe we're all linked up somewhere along the way - I know its a long shot - but its always fun to talk about:). I get so excited when I meet others with similar ancestry - it’s so rare - although I have met a few here in the desert. I visited Lubjiana and Dubrovnik when I was in Europe - 20 years ago this month - wow I'm feeling old again - I arrived by train around 3:00am and had to sleep on a park bench until daylight. It was a great trip – I’m glad I got to experience it although I wished I had known more about my family history at the time so maybe I could have looked someone up
