Madisen's first day of school was yesterday. She has 2 teachers this year Mrs. Bower and Mrs.
Stremel. Mrs.
Stremel will teach on Monday and Tuesday and Mrs. Bower will teach on Thursday and Friday and they will trade off
Wednesday's. I'm not sure how I feel about this. I'm trying to have a
positive attitude about it for
Madisen sake. She seems to love it. She came home and said that she "had a great 1st day of 2
ND grade!" I was glad to here that she had such a great day. Her teachers are "very funny" especially Mrs.
Stremel. So far she seems to think 2
ND grade is great. We'll see what happens when the work gets a little harder. And she has to read more than she did last year. (She does not like to read.)

The two teacher thing isn't really as scary as it seems. My kids have done it 3 times. Once with Mrs. Stremel. It has always worked out great. They work hard to make it all work for the kids. The teachers seem a little less worn out with that schedule. The good thing, is we keep some great teachers, that otherwise would quit to be SAHM's.
I can't believe Madisen is already in school. We still have another month. She looks darling and I love her new shoes. You guys have had quite the summer. I don't think there's a fun place that you haven't been. I've loved living vicariously through you because you went to so many of the place that I'd like to go. What a fun year for you and it looks like everything is going so well for you guys. I've been away from blogging for a while so I'm trying to catch up and your blog has just been amazing! Our trip to Utah for 1 1/2 weeks is paling in comparison to your fun-filled summer. Glad you're having fun for all of us!
I hope she enjoys 2nd grade... Looks like you had her pretty well put together..I hope Chandler learns to enjoy reading too.
I can't believe it is time for school and we haven't even left for vacation yet. You guys have had some amazing trips this summer. I still need to read them more but I enjoyed the pictures. What fun. Maybe I'll get to see the Effiel (sp?) Tower -- in Las Vegas :)
