He held on to those cardboard shoe inserts the rest of the day, and I just found them tonight. But it doesn't stop there. Today while I was cleaning I pulled out my Mr. Clean Magic Eraser sponge and Jaden saw it. He said "Mom, can I have that sponge?" "What are you going to do with the sponge?" I asked him. "Just play with it." He said. So I let him have one. Thinking yeah what's he going to do with a sponge. Well, he's had it all day. I just went to check on him and guess what is in his hands? A Mr. Clean sponge.... I came down stairs and said something to Trent and he reminded me of the time Jaden had found one of those same Mr. Clean sponges and had it for a couple of days, and then Madisen came home from school one day and she ripped it in half. Jaden was devistated he cried, cried. He gets attached to things, even random things like cardboard shoe inserts and Sponges. I just don't know what do with him.

What am I going to do?
On Saturday we went to Walnut Creek to use my Nordstorms gift card. I bought some boots, which I love. But as we were leaving I noticed that Jaden was holding in his hands 2 cardboard shoe insterts and a little black stick. He said to me very exctiedly. "Mom, look what I found!" "Ohh, wow, how cool?" I looked at Trent with a question on my face.??

Audry, that is so cute that he gets so attached. I love when my kids love something and won't let go of it. Although... was the shoe insert dirty? Cause I wouldn't like that. I hope the sponge was clean too!
I love it! Your posts are so unique and creative!
Henry does that. Gets attached to one really weird thing. He likes to talk about what he has been attached to in the past, so in about six months, show Jaden this post. He will love it.
Is he a pack rat? Have a hard time parting with things? My Grandma Hall was like that. She had a thing for plastic bags (like the kind you bring groceries home in) - maybe they were cool to her (seeing she didn't grow up with them). When she died, we cleaned out closets of plastic bags...totally bizarre! I vow to never be like that. I do hold onto stuff - like little memorabilia (movie ticket stubbs, church programs) but I love to PURGE! Makes me feel so good. Clutter is like Cholesterol! No good!
Okay, not to scare you or anything, but those mr. clean sponges cause acid burn if you rub it up and down your skin like you would your walls. SO, tell him that it's okay to get attached as long as he doesn't do that. Sorry if that freaked you out. I'm just sayin'.
Levi still gets attached to weird random things. Pencils. He loves them and calls them wands and has since he was three. He loves Harry Potter. And bouncy balls... and those smashed glass pieces that you put in the bottom of a fish tank. They're treasures to him. Seriously, kids are so funny that way. Why buy christmas when you can buy rocks and bouncy balls?
Why are my comments so freaking long? Geez.
Yes, another thing Jaden loves is erasers.
I LOVE when they have attachments! So hilarious and cute!
