Quandary Solved!

For about a month now I've been in a quandary.  Right now the room that Tatum sleeps in is the baby/guest room.  When a guest comes into town I bring Tatum into my room and she sleeps in her pack 'n' play.  No big deal right?  Wrong!  As I've mentioned she is a horrible napper, but when she sleeps in the pack 'n' play she doesn't sleep good at night either.  Which means yours truly is extremely sleep deprived.  Who wants that when guest's are in town?  What do I do?  I need a guest room.  I will be having people come in from out of town at least 3 or 4 times a year.  Do I just suffer?  It's only 3 or 4 times a year.  Or do I have Madisen and Tatum share a room?  Madisen has had her own room for 7 years now, what will she think?  Not only that she still plays in her room.  Will Tatum's nap time interfere with her play time?  Also, will Tatum wake
her up at night?  Then, I thought maybe, Jaden and Tatum could share a room, he doesn't play
in his room so nap time wouldn't be a problem and he's told me he would like to share a room with Tatum, so why not?  But then, what if Tatum wakes him up at night?  He is a very light sleeper.  So I'm going back and forth?  What do I do?  I've been thinking about this a lot.  At one point I decided that when Tatum got her cast off I would have Jaden and Tatum share.  Then Trent, reminded me that Tatum still wakes up at night.  So, I was just about to give it up and just keep her in the guest room.  Then we go to Costco and the kids see a bunk bed and they both say they want the bed.  So I say to them, you'll have to share a room if you get that bed.  So they both get excited and say they want to share a room.  I'm thinking yeah right, you just want to
share a room to get the bed.  It'll last a week and then Madisen will want her own room again.  But then they keep talking about sharing a room.  So think,  Hey!  That might work.  So I've been thinking about for the last week.  Should I have them share a room?  They are still young enough to get away with it, plus Tatum will get her own room and then when Tatum is older and out of her crib I can have her and Madisen share.  So today I took the plunge and swapped rooms.  It was an all day event.  But I'm glad I did it.  Jaden and Madisen were so excited when they got home and saw me neck deep in my project.  They even helped me out.  I'm so excited and I hope it works out.  They won't get the bunk bed until we know it's gonna last, so in the mean time the day bed will have to do.

1 more day!!!

Dallin and Aubrey shared a room from birth, until we moved into this house. They were ages 7 and 5. I must say we pushed the limit on that! Now Dallin and Ammon share and it works out great. (Except occasionally Ammon gets into Dallin's stuff when he's at school)

I think they'll love it. Lexi and Logan did. Good for you for just going for it yourself and not waiting till Trent could help! Good luck today getting Tatum's cast off!

Found you because I tend to spy on blogs, anyways, I am in a Quandry as well. MY two year old sleeps in the room I have my computer, do I move her crib into my 6 year olds room? I know I need to because when she is napping that takes away precious blogging time. :) No really I need to take your lead and move things around my self, the hubby is always busy or to tired. Thanks for letting me spy

Denae, I guess I didn't even think to wait for him. I've always been type that does everything myself.

I have so been there! Our guest bed is in our baby's room so guess who comes in with us when we have guests.

No wonderful I don't extend invites very often. :-)

I put my kids in the same a while ago and 95% of the time it works out well. It makes Mck feel safer and Luke now has a reading buddy. It gets annoying when McK it really tired and Luke is bouncing around the room like Tigger. Other than that, I can't think of another downside. Good luck with the days ahead.
