No more cast!!!

Tatum got her cast off today.  She did not like the machine that
they cut the cast with.  As soon as it turned on she began to cry,
and continued crying until it was done.
Jaden didn't like the fact that Tatum was crying.  He got
tears in his eyes and hid behind me.
Daddy and Madisen after she got her cast off.
Next she had to get Xray's.  Daddy took Tatum in the xray room
while Mommy and the kids waited outside.  This is the kids in
front of the room Tatum was in.

These are Tatum's xray's.  Her leg is completely healed but
we have to go back in 6 months to make sure her leg is
growing OK.  The broken leg could grow longer than the
other.  So they will keep track for the next 2 years.

The physical therapist said that Tatum was not as stiff as would be
expected after being in a cast.  She gave us some exercises that we
should do with her to help strengthen her legs..

With in 20 minuets of being home Tatum was grabbing her
feet and rolling over.  She seemed very happy to be mobile again.

I am so glad that this chapter in my life is over.  The cast was horrible as I've mentioned, and my poor baby didn't get to be mobile for 5 weeks.  That is a very long time in baby world.  I will forever feel bad that I fell down the stairs and broke my babies femur.  But she is healthy and happy and it doesn't seem to have affected her all that much.  That really is the most important part.

I got tears in my eyes when I saw those first two pictures. I'm so glad she is alright, and that she can move around again. It really puts things into perspective doesn't it? I mean, how often do we think about our mobility or things like that, until it's taken away from us. Isn't it amazing how the body can heal itself? I was thinking about her cast coming off all day and I'm glad you posted tonight, so I know she actually got it off and she's healed! Hooray!

Poor you and Baby Tatum! Great shots though! She will be happy when she is older and will be able to brag about being so young in a cast!

That's such great news and I'm so glad it's gone. It just didn't look right seeing a tiny baby with a big old cast.

PHEW! No one likes all that medical stuff on a little tiny baby! Glad to hear you're/she's done.

Great blogging of the event. Did the doctors think you were crazy.

Claire and I are both happy that Tatum's cast is off. She told me all about it after she read your blog. It is reason for celebration.

I would eat a whole cake to celebrate the event of the cast coming off! I was so happy for her and YOU seeing her little body free of the pink puke cast (pink puke is what I used to call my sickening pink carpet). Did you save it? The cast, I mean?

SOOOOOOOOO SOOOOOO happy for you and Tatum!

No, I did not save it. It was too stinky and gross, although the tech did say it was one of the cleaner cast's he's seen. I'm scared to know what other one's looked like.

I am so excited for Tatum. I love the picture of her with her feet in the air playing on the floor. I bet it is so much fun for you to be able to see her play and roll around on the floor!
