The Engagement!

Growing up my family would go to Ensenada, Mexico for our family vacation.  We would spend 10 days in a condo on the beach.  I loved it.  I looked forward to it every year.  So when my mom and dad invited Trent and  I to go with them to Ensenada for a weekend in October of 1998, I couldn't pass up the chance to show Trent how I would spend my summers as a girl.  Little did I know that this weekend would be the most memorable of all.  One of my favorite things as a child was the bomb fire we would do every night.  I was determined to have one while we were on this trip.  I wanted to do it right.  So I hounded everyone about it and finally the night came.  We had the hot coco, and the fire was going.  I finally got everyone out to the fire and not 5 min after everyone sat down my mom got up because she forgot something.  My dad said he would

he would go in and help her get it.  Then my sister gets up and just leaves for no reason.  I start to get a little bummed.  I didn't really say anything, but I was feeling disappointed.  All I wanted  was to have a bomb fire and sit and talk and my family could even sit with us for more than a few minutes.  Trent starts to notice that I'm bummed, and thinks I better do this fast.  So we start writing things in the sand.  He writes:  "I Love you."  I write back "I love you too."  We write a couple of other things and then he writes "Will you Marry me?" in the sand.  Then he pulls a ring out of his pocket and says;  "Audry, I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you, will you marry me."  I'm in tears at this point, I say yes of course.  I then realize that this was his plan all along.  I could not have asked for a more romantic and meaningful proposal.  I love him for thinking of making it so special.

I'm loving all these pictures. You both look so happy! What a neat idea to document all this for your children to read about one day! I love all the romantic things he did for you.
