Today I should have been here:
Muir Beach! I didn't go because it was windy this morning and I didn't feel like dealing with wind and sand and a baby. My friend Denae told me that she checked the weather and that it was suppose to be nice but did I listen? No! Madisen was freezing from her morning swim practice and her ankle hurt and she seemed kind of grouchy. Plus I was not 100% sure that the weather was going to be nice. Weather people are not always right. So instead of pushing her like I normally would do. We stayed home and did this instead:
After lunch we went to Target and I got a couple of things from the $1 spot and we made an obstacle course and then we played on the slip and slide. The Session's joined us as well.
Am I glad that I didn't go to the beach? The truth is no, I wish I would have just taken the kids to the beach. It turns out the weather was great and I'm sure my kids would have had a blast. I kind of feel guilty that I didn't try harder to talk Madisen into going. What can you do? Next time I'll trust my friend and her weather report. :)

Carls Jr, Target, Slip n Slide...still sounds like a good day. Better than sitting in an office typing proposals for projects! :-)
Don't worry, I know the kids had fun on the slip-n-slide. What kid doesn't! The have the whole summer to go to the beach.
I love Muir Beach... but Muir Woods is our favorite!!! I love that you have so many cool things you can do where you live... sorry if I've said it before... but it's not the last time I'll say it! Cute post, sounds like you made it a great day!
We missed you! It looks like you guys ended up having a fun day.. You can come on the next beach trip- hopefully we'll get good weather again!
You are such a good mom and you shouldn't be feeling guilty. I bet your kids had a great time.
It's a constant battle for me. Making myself do things that WILL be fun but might be hard to make happen with kids at first. It's just getting in the car all loaded--- once that's over, I'm good.
And I love love love that you and Denae are friends. The world is so small.
Why are moms great with the whole self-inflicted guilt thing. I think it sounded like a great time! And ven though you passed up a beach op, you never know, you could've stepped on a sand crab and been fatally injured, or maybe stung by a jelly fish or yelled at by a grumpy old man who isn't used to public places...just think positively, there are no sand crabs, jelly fish or grumpy old men at Carls Jr and Target! I know this because I haven't heard of any fatal sand crab attacks lately, nor any jelly fish traumas and all of the grumpy old men don't shop Carls Jr and Target, they shop my local Costco!
I don't think I can top that last comment...Roxanne is hilarious! I agree; I'll bet the kids had just as much fun at Carl's Jr and on the slip-n-slide. What a fun afternoon and I know what you mean about sometimes not wanting to push, especially when it's going to be work for you. Sometimes you need these low-key days! I'm sure the kids were completely fine and there are many more beach days to come.
