bed time

The bedtime ritual has gotten progressively out of control for Tatum. When she was a baby it was simple I would had her a bottle lay her down that was it. Then we got rid of the crib and took away the bottle. Still it was simple because she had her sippy with water, that she never drinks but has to have. Then she starting waking up in the middle of the night with nightmares so we gave her a night light and opened the open a little. It still wasn't calming her down so I gave her music. Then Trent read to her and now we have half her room in her bed.
If one thing is missing than she won't go to sleep until that thing is found. It is a nightmare. So when we go on trips my list includes:

nightlight
music
books, it has to be those 4 book.
Jessie, woody and buzz & ham
ducky
baby

Now, here's the kicker: Madisen was the same way. No she didn't need half her room in her bed, BUT she did need:
music
nightlight
blue ice
rag
cup of water by her bed
and a hug and kiss from both mom and dad. She still thinks she needs this last one. It drives us CRAZY!

Why are my girls so obsessive by nature? They are both so regimented it's crazy.
Why can't they just go to sleep like a normal children?

Jaden isn't like this. He is SO easy to put to bed. He's asleep almost as soon as his head hits the pillow.
I'm not sure which gene my girls inherited but it drives me bonkers!
