Homec life

So I'm going to start trying to do weekly updates on my blog! I realize that I don't blog as much. The initial reason for starting this blog was for family history. I wanted to have down things that are going on in our lives. But I've been neglectful. I've realized that part of the reason is I like to get feed back. And maybe it's because I don't blog as much but I don't have many comments anymore. I'm sure I've lost most of my readers but, if you are out there and you are reading my blog maybe a comment here and there would be nice. :)

Now on to the blog :)

Last week was our last week before summer break. Usually I feel like I have a million things to do and by the end of the week my head feels like it's going to explode. This year I didn't feel that as much. I'm not sure if it was because there was less going on or if it was because I was so stressed out all year due to 4th grade homework that when there wasn't any it was a huge break. Regardless I now have a 5th grader, 2nd grader and 2nd year preschooler.

Madisen got Honor Society the last trimester, which means straight A's. We are very proud of her. She is proud of herself. Madisen is a very hard worker and- much like her father, she sets goals for herself. We had a conversation one morning that went like this:
Madisen: "mom, I'm a failure."
Me: "Why do you say that?"
Madisen: "Because I made a goal to get Honor Society and I didn't make it"
To which I gave her a very lengthy speech about being proud of what she did do and so on. Later that day she came home jumping for joy and screeching for joy! She did in fact make Honor Society! Good job Sis. She also got the Leader of the Pack award. And was giving the Extra hard worker award from her teacher. I'm glad she is such a dedicated student.

Jaden, got the Leader of the Pack award too. I was surprised by this because he is a leader, but he is a big goof ball too. He has had to learn that school is not social hour and that he can't while he works, because while he can get his work done he keeps others from doing theirs. But I guess after talking to his teacher I found that he focuses very well in class and is an example to the other students. I'm glad some thing that I say sticks! :P Jaden had field day and came home looking this:
It's kind of hard to see but yes, he has a lighting bolt on his forehead and glasses around his eyes. Yes, he is obsessed with Harry Pottery and yes, we have watched all 7 movies a million times and can recite them all verbatim.

Tatum has grown a lot this last few months. She keeps me informed about what her siblings are doing. If they are doing something they shouldn't she makes sure they know that they shouldn't be doing it. For example, today she told Jaden that he needed to turn off the TV because it was time to get ready for church. When he didn't listen, She yelled "Jaden, Magoo!" "Did you hear me?" "Turn off the TV." She is convinced that his middle name is Magoo. I've called him Mr. Magoo since he was little but when I try to tell her that his middle name is Trent she argues that it's not. She also, has taken to dressing just like mommy. The other day I had my hair pulled back and was wearing a scarf. She insisted of doing the same this is her looking like mommy:
It's been so fun to watch her grow up. While I'm sad to see my little baby leave me, I'm enjoying the little girl who is taking her place.
