My thoughts of homework.

Madisen has so much homework I think it takes her 1 1/2 to 2 hours depending on the day. It's crazy. Why does our school system feel the need to bombard these kids with so much? That does not include studying for the grammar, spelling, vocabulary and reading comprehension test that they have every week. A math test every other week and science about the same. Oh and did I mention the book report/project once a month. She barely has anytime to relax and just be a kid. Plus on top of it all they complicate the basics. The math program we have confuses the kids more than it teaches them. What ever happen to the good old fashion way of teaching division? Why do they need to learn 7 different ways to multiply? Why do we need to teach the algebra before they even know how to add? Jaden who is in 1st grade and is just learning to add had a homework page that had a question similar to this: 4 + ___=7? WHAT!? The kid didn't even know what 2+4 is. AND he had not learned to subtract? HELLO!!!!
They are going to burn these poor kids out before they even get to the grades that matter.... The stress is so ridiculous.

4th grade is the WORST!!! I swear last year was a joke,we were always having to get some kind of project done and all the test.... Let alone the homework. Just hold on and know that 5th grade seems to be a lot easier. Good luck!
