When I was young my cousins were a big part of my life. In fact every memory I have of my childhood includes them. They were my playmates. I didn't have friends, I had my cousins and I had the Jackson's(Very close family friends) I loved it!
Madisen and Jaden only had 1 cousin up until 2 years ago(Now they have Sawyer, 2 1/2 and Paisley 7 months). Gavin! He's my brothers son. He's 7 months older than Jaden. My kids love him. When we lived in the desert, they use to play together. Gavin would even spend the night sometimes. But we don't live in the Desert, so we don't see him as often.
The kids had a great time with him when we went to visit in March.

Yep, we believe in the cousin connection. Except when the cousins teach your two year old her first swear word. "Poopoo Head."
I know exactly what you mean! My girls best friends are their cousins.
